- Hi Michael van Elst!
- On 08-Jan-96 11:08:58 you said:

-
- intuition, the filesystem, interrupts, exec,.. (the whole system-software) has
- to be adapted, so that it is a new program with protection. If an old program
- crashes (e.g. an old driver) it certainly can force me to reboot the system
- (if it is the driver for the graphics-board for example).
- But at least exec should stay alive and should be able to analyze which
- (old) program brought the machine down (α la "core dumped")
- and if I know the "bad" program I can easily trash it!
- After 2-3 years there are no "old" progs left and we have full protection!
-

-
- why?
- other OSes can run programs in a separate memspace without losing
- performance! (e.g. you can run a Windoze 3.1 app in a separate WinNT
- mem-space if you want).. and I have the feeling that it is even faster!
-

-
- then please come out with some "better" proposals!
